This was a beautifully thought-out photo essay. Nice work!
What a beautiful project! You really have a future as a photographer! The photos are compelling and tell a story beyond what’s physically there. And the poem reference was a great inclusion. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
I really loved the insight I got into your world through these photos and your writing. Thanks for sharing this gift!
Nature can really teach us about resilience and grit!
Poetry and metaphor can help bring that idea home as well.
The Rose That Grew From Concrete
-by TuPac Shakur
Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature’s law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared.
Great job, Willow! I love your photos and your reflections of the project.
Wow– these are beautiful photographs! Your thoughtful reflection is powerful and reminds me of the resilience demonstrated by so many of us this year.
