Stray Animals in Detroit

by SEMIS Coalition | Jun 2, 2026 | Community Forum 2026 | 0 comments

Presentation slide graphic introducing the sad population of stray animals in Detroit. There is a picture of a dog and cat to the right side and a crying emoji.

Seventh graders at the James and Grace Lee Boggs School investigated the stray problem in our Islandview community. Using what we learned in math, social studies and ELA, they worked on a yearlong project to research and advocate for our homeless animals in our neighborhoods.
