At Frederick Douglass Academy, our Earth Day event highlighted student leadership in environmental stewardship. We united our community for a day of action featuring student-led GIS showcases, neighborhood clean-ups, drone mapping demonstrations, sustainability workshops, and climate justice discussions. Through these activities, students explored how technology, data, and grassroots leadership can address environmental challenges. By integrating GIS and environmental science, we empower our youth to lead the next generation of sustainability and climate solutions.
