by SEMIS Coalition | Jun 4, 2026 | Community Forum 2026 | 0 comments

Slide introducing Eco-Modeling: IB Math in CTE. Exploring mathematical modeling as a tool for food waste reduction, chemical optimization, and ecojustice. by Aa'niyah Hesterly, Chrisopher Greer, Drake Holmes, Trevion Mills, and Kaylah White. There is an image of a globe of Earth on the left side.

Step into the world of chefs and cosmetologists as we explore how IB Mathematics supports sustainability and decision-making in service industries. This presentation focuses on how students use mathematical modeling to reduce food waste, manage inventory, and analyze product use and chemical ratios in cosmetology. By working with real data from their pathways, students identify ways to improve efficiency, lower environmental impact, and promote more equitable practices. See how math becomes a practical tool for creating more sustainable businesses and stronger communities.
