SEMIS provides a structured sequence for ongoing adult learning within the EcoJustice, Place-Based framework.

Influenced by leading research in teacher learning, adult development, and school reform, SEMIS offers opportunities for:

• Coaching for EcoJustice & Place-Based Curriculum Development
• Mentoring
• Collaborative Assessment
• Curriculum co-development

Each SEMIS school team develops an Essential Question from which they design their stewardship projects. Examples of SEMIS School Essential Questions include:

What is our responsibility to each other and the land?
What is stewardship in the 21st century?
What is Community?
What is food security?
